Three foods that affect the liver even in non-drinkers

Some foods contribute to the rapid deposition of fat on internal organs. Sausage, store-bought pastries, sweet drinks and energy drinks provoke fatty liver. This was reported by Spanish nutritionists.
Sausage and store-bought pastries are among the record holders for their content: donuts, pancakes, waffles, etc. As a result of a diet with a high consumption of such products, serious liver problems arise even in people who do not drink alcohol at all, the nutritionist noted.
In addition, carbohydrates with a high glycemic index interfere with the normal functioning of the liver. This especially applies to sweet drinks with fructose. Nutritionist Susana Leon also recommended avoiding energy drinks. They contain a large amount of caffeine and sugar.
Experts note that people with obesity, diabetes and high cholesterol have a high risk of developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Failure to treat this disease leads to liver fibrosis, which is a life-threatening condition.
