Three main rules of a long and healthy life have been named by scientists

Live long and healthy life is what most people want. However, few people know that for this you need to follow just a few rules.
Richard Faragher (Richard Faragher), professor of biogerontology at the University of Brighton, and Lynne Cox (Lynne Cox), head of the aging laboratory at the University of Oxford, talked about the three main factors of longevity.
Nutrition and way life
There are many studies that prove the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. For example, scientific work has shown that reducing weight, giving up smoking and alcohol, as well as eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day can increase life expectancy by 7-14 years.
Physical activity
According to the study, lifestyle is responsible for about 10% of premature deaths due to chronic diseases (coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes and various types of cancer). “If tomorrow all people on Earth increased their physical activity, the expected life expectancy would probably increase by almost a year,” experts noted.
However, it is not necessary to do high-intensity training for this. Researchers have found that a little more than 30 minutes a day of moderate to vigorous physical activity is enough for most people. Such loads not only strengthen the muscle frame, but also reduce inflammation in the body, says the journal BJM.
Strengthening the immune system
No matter how good whether it was nutrition or general health, the immune system will still become weaker with age. As the scientists explained, everything starts to go downhill in adulthood, when the thymus – the organ in which the maturation and immunological “learning” of T cells takes place – stops functioning as actively as before.
This means that T cells will no longer be able to learn to recognize new infections or fight malignant tumors. Immunity can be helped by adding key vitamins to the diet, especially A and D. A promising area of research is studying the signals that the body sends to help create more immune cells, in particular a molecule called IL-7. Scientists do not rule out that in the near future they will be able to develop drugs that contain this molecule and potentially increase immunity in the elderly.
