Three steps to preparing a greenhouse for tomatoes: free from pests and diseases
1
When you see that someone grows big and beautiful tomatoes in a greenhouse without the evil phytophthora and many other diseases, there is a feeling of envy. But in most cases, it's not about luck, it's just that the greenhouse has been properly prepared for growing tomatoes since autumn.
What needs to be done in the greenhouse
First of all, remove the remains of the plants. Get everything together with the roots. The soil must be dug up and loosened.
Next, the greenhouse must be washed. Disinfection solutions are used for this. They often wash with chlorine, hydrogen peroxide. You can also use special garden iodine.
At the final stage, when the greenhouse dries up after water treatments, a tobacco checker is installed. It is fumigated to destroy pests that may stay for the winter. We are talking about whiteflies, aphids, fruit eaters, thrips and other insects.
These three consecutive steps are the key to quality preparation of the greenhouse for the new season. In such conditions, plants will definitely be protected from diseases and pests.
