In addition, scientists have discovered a connection between the frequency of eating potatoes and high blood pressure. 187,000 people took part in the experiment and were divided into two groups. Volunteers from the first group ate potatoes at least four times a week, and from the second – once a month. As a result, it turned out that the participants in the first group were much more likely to suffer from hypertension.
“These results have potentially important implications for public health, as they do not support the potential benefit of including potatoes as vegetables in public diets. food programs. Instead, they prove the harmful effect observed after high consumption of carbohydrates,” the authors of the paper said.
