Healthy eating experts have come to the common opinion that shawarma is the healthiest fast food. If you have to choose between a hamburger and shawarma, it is better to choose the second, nutritionists believe.
The fact is that this dish contains products that are really good for our body: vegetables, chicken meat and low-calorie sauces. But shawarma is not on the same level as shawarma. Experts believe that when choosing, you need to be guided by a number of rules.
– There are two big problems. The fact is that manufacturers send a lot of additives to the dish that contain vegetable oil. I would advise you to ask the chef in more detail about the composition of the sauce. If oil is in the first place, then it is better to choose another one based on sour cream, low-fat mayonnaise or tomato paste, – advises the nutritionist.
The expert also recommends breaking off and throwing away the tip of the shawarma, as it will be just a twisted pita bread that does not contain anything useful. This will allow you not to eat extra calories and not harm your figure. After all, in the other components of shawarma, only fiber, protein and carbohydrates necessary for a balanced diet will remain.
