During a conversation, you can often hear the phrase “take action”. Although both words are in the Ukrainian language, it is incorrect to say so.
How to say “take measures” correctly in Ukrainian
In the Ukrainian language, the word measure is used when you need to indicate a unit measurement For example, verst is an ancient measure of distance. This word can also be said in a more abstract sense: to a certain extent (not to a certain extent), a measure of punishment.
However, if we are talking about a set of means to achieve any goal, it is more correct to say the word measure.
For example, these measures were aimed at motivating employees.
The word accept also exists separately, but its main interpretation means a certain action: to take or receive.
For example, accepting a gift, accepting an inheritance, taking dishes from the table. It is allowed to be used in the following phrases: to take to school, to receive guests, to take medicine.
Instead of “taking measures”, if it is about an action to achieve a certain goal, it is better to say “to take measures”.
For example, I should take measures not to get sick.
Important: the word measure should be used exactly in the genitive case.
