Sedentary lifestyle today is characteristic of many, and even representatives of the younger generation. Long hours of work in the office, standing in traffic jams, TV and gadgets at home… Unfortunately, it costs us a lot in the end. Health has to pay.
“One of the risks of this lifestyle is weight gain. Movement causes the tissues of your body to produce the enzyme lipoprotein lipase, which controls the amount of lipids in the blood and helps process fats and sugars absorbed with food,” says the expert.
The sedentary image does not promote fat burning processes, resulting in weight changes and figure, metabolic syndrome appears.
Another serious problem is the shortening of life expectancy. People who do not move much die earlier. According to the WHO, a sedentary lifestyle is the cause of death in 6-7% of cases.
People who do not move much have a high risk of developing diabetes and heart diseases. It is also fertile ground for the appearance of chronic diseases.
It is not uncommon for sedentary people to have problems with bone and muscle tissues. The back and neck are most often affected. With age, these problems only increase.
And finally, a passive lifestyle can cause depressive disorders and increased anxiety. This especially applies to people who spend 8-10 hours in a sitting position every day.
