Two Kyiv residents will be tried for evading the program for offenders
The extras committed domestic violence against their relatives and refused to undergo the corresponding correctional program. Violators face up to two years of imprisonment.
Law enforcement officers documented the offense and compiled administrative materials on a 51-year-old violator who committed domestic violence against her own daughter. The second act of domestic violence was perpetrated by the 41-year-old defendant against his wife.
The Obolon District Court brought the offenders to justice under Part 1 of Art. 173-2 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses – committing domestic violence in the family and obliged them to undergo a program for offenders. However, the offenders never once appeared at the relevant institution to undergo the procedure. 390-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – failure to implement restrictive measures, restrictive orders or failure to complete a program for offenders.
Currently, the pre-trial investigation has been completed, the indictment has been sent to the court for consideration of the merits of the case. The sanction of the article provides for arrest for a term of up to six months or restriction of liberty for a term of up to two years.
