Following the lifestyle of the subjects, the researchers analyzed how factors such as smoking, physical activity, alcohol consumption, obesity and social support, affected the health of people in the aging process.
It turned out that quitting smoking and good social support in middle age to a greater extent increased the chances of successful aging.
