Two reasons why panicle hydrangea is better to grow than large-leaved hydrangea

Each hydrangea is beautiful in its own way. Large-leaved or paniculate, tree-like – they differ in the appearance of flowers and the size of the bushes, but they are equally a decoration for the garden. It's just that in some moments panicled hydrangea has advantages, which we will talk about later in the article.

Advantage No. 1

Large-leaved and panicled hydrangea differ in soil requirements. For the first one, acidic soil conditions are required, but for the flagellated one, it is not. From this, a type of plant care is formed. For large leaves, you need to regularly maintain the level of acidity. At the same time, ragweed can grow even on neutral soils.

Advantage #2

In autumn, you need to prepare for winter. In this aspect, large-leaved garden and tree hydrangeas have a requirement for pruning and shelter to protect them from the cold. There is no such requirement in the panicled variety. Therefore, you can simply cut dry inflorescences. It is not necessary to cover it. It winters beautifully anyway. Then in the spring you will be able to see which shoots should be left and which ones should not. Then carry out sanitary and structural pruning.

The panicled hydrangea is unpretentious in care and cultivation compared to other varieties. That is why it is worth paying attention to it. And with the size of the inflorescence, this is not difficult to do.
