Two types of leg pain may indicate the formation of a dangerous blood clot

Some symptoms felt in the legs may precede dangerous complications, such as a blood clot in the lungs, doctors warn.
Thrombi in the body occur as a result of blood clotting, which is activated by the body in the event of cuts or injuries. A blood clot forms to prevent excessive bleeding.
But if the blood thickens for a long time, it can be dangerous, as there is a possibility of a blood clot that does not dissolve.
Two signs that can appear in the leg indicate that a dangerous blood clot is forming (or has formed), the publication reports, citing data from Professor Beverly Hunt.
Professor Hunt said that such blood clots can form in any artery, including deep in the arms and legs. The formation of blood clots in the extremities is known as deep vein thrombosis. It is often asymptomatic, but if someone experiences sudden leg pain with no obvious explanation, deep vein thrombosis should be considered.
When a blood clot is in the arm or leg, the pain can be sudden or gradual, the scientist added. It is always important to respond to deep vein thrombosis because it can cause complications such as pulmonary embolism. In turn, arterial thrombosis can lead to a heart attack.
According to the expert, blood clots can break away from the place where they first formed. If the flow moves, they can be carried with blood into the arteries – leading to the heart or lungs. According to the Mayo Clinic, most cases of pulmonary embolism begin in the deep veins of the legs, where blood clots form.
