Dan Buettner writes in his materials: the first requirement is that 90-100% of all food should be plant foods. Long-term residents who were interviewed consume vegetables, fruits and seasonal greens every day. Special attention is paid to spinach, beets, turnips and cabbage. The second rule is to limit the consumption of meat dishes, as this product shortens life by an average of eight years. According to the third advice, you should give preference to fish, but at the same time you should limit portions and not overeat.
The fourth rule is the need to use legumes, we are talking about soybeans, white beans, peas, lentils and black beans. These products contain complex carbohydrates, protein, fiber and some fat. The fifth habit consists in the complete rejection of sugar, as a guarantee of longevity. It is necessary to limit the use of sweet pastries, canned fruits, juices from the store and candies.
The sixth rule is the need to make snacks from nuts, as they contain trace elements. It is necessary to eat two handfuls of nuts per day. The seventh habit of long-lived people is to reduce portions of bread. You should buy whole grain products, wholesome bread made from barley or rye.
The eighth rule is the requirement to drink more water, it is recommended to consume 2-2.5 liters of liquids per day. The ninth rule indicates the need to include vegetables and fruits with minimal mechanical or thermal processing in the diet. We are talking about salads, when greens and other components are cut into large pieces, and they must be eaten raw.
