Waist fat can be a harbinger of early death

Joint efforts of Canadian and Iranian experts found that fat deposits in the waist area can be a harbinger of early death.
So, based on the results of almost a hundred studies, experts determined that the localization of excess fat deposits in the abdominal cavity is associated with the risk of premature death.
During the study of this issue, data on the health status of almost three million people between the ages of 3 and 24 were analyzed. The researchers analyzed the girth of the waist, hips, as well as their relationship with the total fat reserves in the body of a particular subject.
Thus, the scientists came to the conclusion that every 10 cm of excess in the waist increases the risk of premature death by 11%. In cases of fat deposits in other parts of the body, such dependence was not observed.
