These data, published in the journal Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases, show “large-scale positive health effects” associated with the inclusion of walnuts in the diet. Specialists from the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota observed what happens in the body of people who regularly consume such nuts. They concluded that owners of this habit may have a “unique body phenotype” that lowers their risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.
