Watching TV can shorten life – the doctor explained the health risk

If humanity could reduce the time spent watching TV to less than an hour a day, it would prevent every tenth heart disease. This is the conclusion reached by scientists from the University of Hong Kong.

Give up binge watching TV if you want to protect yourself from cardiovascular diseases, as the study shows. It is ideal if the time in front of the TV is limited to at least one hour a day. Observations showed that if adults spent more time on their favorite box, they were 16% more likely to have heart attacks, strokes, etc.

Calculations showed that every tenth heart disease could be prevented by watching less TV. But if a person cannot give up this habit, then he needs to at least get up from the sofa or chair more often and move without taking his eyes off the TV.

In addition, you should give up bad habits and not eat various snacks when watching favorite programs and series like chips and chocolate. It also negatively affects the health of the cardiovascular system.

The authors of the study believe that all these measures can significantly improve the management of risks to our heart and blood vessels. This especially applies to coronary artery disease and angina pectoris, as well as shortness of breath. The presence of these pathologies, in turn, increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
