Ideas for healthy snacks throughout the day

Fruit and vegetables are a good option if you get hungry between meals, so make sure you always have them on hand. To make snacks more filling, you need to add protein to them, advises Bhf senior nutritionist Victoria Taylor. For example, the following options are suitable:

  • apple slices with cheese and half a tablespoon of peanut butter without adding salt or sugar;
  • blueberries or other berries with low-fat natural yogurt;< /li>
  • tomatoes or carrot sticks with hummus or bean dip;
  • a small amount of dried fruit – also with protein.

Unsalted nuts are another good option. Especially those that contain mainly unsaturated fats, such as almonds, walnuts or hazelnuts.

You should also pay attention to the size of the portions: there should be enough food. This is especially important, as it will help resist the temptation to buy chips, chocolate bars and other far from the most useful products.
