If men worry a lot in middle age age, they have an increased risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Experts from Boston University came to this conclusion.
Excitement in middle age for men threatens with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. Scientists from Boston observed 1,500 men who had an average age of 53 years. Observations lasted 40 years. It turned out that those representatives of the stronger sex who showed the greatest anxiety at the beginning of the observations were 13% more likely to later have at least 6 key markers of poor health. These include obesity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
The presence of these 6 risk factors predicts an increased risk of cardiometabolic diseases. This is the name given to a group of disorders that include heart attacks, strokes, type 2 diabetes and fatty hepatosis. The study clearly shows that the high level of anxiety among men is associated with biological processes that increase the likelihood of cardiac and metabolic disorders.
The study did not affect women, and based on its results, it can be assumed that the prevention of nervous disorders in men in middle age will have a very beneficial effect on strengthening their health in later years. It is extremely important for men to monitor their weight and go through preventive examinations without raising blood pressure and cholesterol.
