What examinations should be performed after 40 years of age?

In addition to the natural age-related changes that occur in the body, there is another danger – many people under the age of 40 already have chronic diseases that need to be diagnosed and treated.

First of all, you should not ignore medical examinations. As statistics show, this is not just a “check-box examination” – after a medical examination, many people receive referrals for more detailed examinations. In particular, cancer has become more often diagnosed in the early stages, which is very important.

Women after 40 years of age need to visit a gynecologist twice a year, as well as have their breasts examined. This should be done even if nothing bothers you. After 40 years of age, the risk of developing breast and reproductive system cancer increases significantly. During menopause, it is recommended to see a cardiologist and endocrinologist.

It is important to monitor the level of sugar and cholesterol in the blood. If you do not have problems with this, then it is enough to take tests once every six months. If any deviations from the norm are found, you need to follow the doctor's recommendations. Most likely, with minor violations, you will simply need to change your diet so that everything returns to normal.

Men after 40 years of age need to visit a urologist at least once a year. In case of any symptoms from the reproductive system, you need to see a doctor as soon as possible. It is also important for men to undergo an examination by a cardiologist – the risk of cardiovascular diseases increases with age.
