What foods increase the risk of premature death

Scientists from the University of São Paulo found out which foods increase the risk of early death.

It is reported that about 57 thousand premature deaths of people in Brazil were associated with the consumption of foods with a high degree of processing. Scientists say that such food can increase the risk of developing diseases of the cardiovascular system. These diseases are one of the main factors of premature death.

Scientists explained that products with a high degree of processing contain more artificial additives. In particular, we are talking about instant noodles, hot dogs, bread, cakes, ham, frozen pizza, cookies.

Researchers also calculated that if all adult Brazilians reduced their consumption of ultra-processed foods, the country could have about 20 thousand fewer premature deaths per year.
