What foods should not be eaten in the morning: a black list of nutritionists

Scientists have already proven , that breakfast reduces the risk of heart attack, diabetes and improves concentration during the day. In addition, those who do not skip the first meal are more likely to have a healthy weight. However, a lot depends on what products are used for breakfast. For example, nutritionists advise to exclude, among other things, baked goods, processed meat and juices.
Sweet cereals for breakfast
As nutritionist Kelly McGrane explained, if you start the day with a plate of cereal, the feeling of hunger after eating will appear very quickly. The fact is that most flakes are made from refined flour, so they have practically no fiber. In addition, cereal is low in protein but high in sugar.
Sausages and other processed meats
According to nutritionist Roxana Ehsani, this is not the most nutritious breakfast product. For example, sausage products contain a lot of sodium, which can increase blood pressure, as well as saturated fats that are harmful to the heart and blood vessels. The expert emphasized that the consumption of processed meat is associated with an increased risk of chronic diseases and cancer.
Wheat bread
As noted by nutritionist Dawn Jackson Blatner, wheat bread does not mean “whole grain”. According to him, many people confuse these two concepts, being sure of the benefits of wheat bread. “White bread has a negative effect on blood sugar and energy levels, first raising them sharply and then lowering them just as sharply. The best choice is whole grain bread, with which you can make avocado toast. And be sure to add protein to breakfast,” he advised.
Flavored coffee drinks and juices
Most flavored coffee drinks contain a lot of calories and sugar at the almost complete absence of other nutrients, said nutritionist Maggie Michalczyk (Maggie Michalczyk). Instead of such drinks, she advised to prepare natural coffee at home, adding honey, banana and almond butter to it.
Experts also recommended to use only freshly squeezed juices for breakfast, avoiding store options. According to nutritionists, the latter contain too much sugar, which can be especially dangerous for people with diabetes.
Cupcake
Such pastries contain many calories, fat and sugar. In addition, there is little protein in cupcakes, so they will not be able to provide the body with a feeling of fullness for a long time, nutritionists added.
