What happens to your health if you go to bed with wet hair?

Going to bed with a wet head is harmful to your health. And experts confirm this. Here are the health consequences it can lead to.

Why shouldn't you go to bed with wet hair? There are at least four reasons.

You can easily catch a cold. After washing your hair, the immune system weakens, so infection can easily enter the body. And in general, viruses spread faster in a cool environment. As a result, a person may experience a runny nose, headache, nasal congestion, and fever.

Hair is damaged. In a wet state, uncolored hair and hair that has not been permed stretch up to 30% of its original length. If the hair is bleached or dyed, then when wet it is more prone to tangling and twisting. As a result, during sleep, they can stretch and break. And if you comb them actively in the morning, they will eventually become brittle and start to fall out.

Bacteria multiply. Both pillowcases and hair follicles can contain fungus, and in a humid environment it spreads easily.

Seborrheic dermatitis develops. Through wet hair, the fungus that causes this disease can provoke an inflammatory reaction in the body. This will all lead to dandruff, itchy scalp, and the formation of red spots and papules.
