What method allows you to “close” the paths between the beds from weeds and water?

If there is a garden on the plot, you probably faced the problem of unobstructed access to the beds. Dirt paths are especially prone to the appearance of weeds, because they are not given the same attention as soil with plantings. In addition, water often accumulates in the space between the beds, and after returning from the garden, your shoes are covered with lumps of dirt. To avoid such unpleasant phenomena, it is enough to cover dirt paths.
Now there are many options for this:
- sawdust;
- old carpets;
- linoleum (with the reverse side up to avoid the “icicle” effect);
- wooden boards;
- straw;
- geotextile (black covering material) and much more.

However, the best method preferred by most gardeners is ordinary cardboard. Cardboard boxes between beds serve 2-3 years. At the same time, they are absolutely safe for the environment.
Weeds will not be able to break through such an obstacle, water will not stagnate between the beds and dirt will no longer stick to shoes.
