What mistakes lead to cucumbers “sitting still”?

Today, we will tell you what to feed cucumbers with to get an active and healthy plant and, in fact, a rich harvest.
It is not uncommon to find a situation where you seem to be doing everything right: you fertilize with nitrogen fertilizer, but for some reason the cucumbers sit in one place, do not grow, the leaves start to turn yellow. You look at them, and they are somehow sluggish.
The fact is that cucumbers do not like to grow on acidic soils. And nitrogen fertilizers acidify the soil even more. Now remember that you fertilize the plot with nitrogen year after year, so the soil on it slowly but properly acidifies.
In acidic soil, any garden crops will grow and develop poorly.
In order to deoxidize it, you need to add chalk, ash or dolomite flour. In general, it is good to apply these preparations in dry form to the beds in the fall.
But if you haven't done this, you can apply them now, while the plant is just starting to grow. Such feedings should be done twice per season, with a break of two weeks, at the beginning of plant growth.
- To do this, you need to take 10 liters of warm water and 200 g of chalk. Chalk can be purchased at a gardening store, it is also sold in hardware stores, but there may be some other impurities there.
- Stir the chalk well in water and let the solution sit for about 1-2 hours.
- You need to apply 500 ml of this solution under each cucumber bush.
Important! Along with chalk, no other fertilizing can be applied on this day. You need to wait a couple of days and then feed the plants.
Here is such a simple but important nuance about soil deacidification that you need to know so that the plants grow quickly and develop well, and as a result, please us with an early harvest.
