What plants should not be planted near an apple tree if you want to get a harvest?
0
Apple trees are grown by many gardeners. They noticed that a crop bears fruit better if certain crops grow next to it.
But there are plants next to which the opposite result is observed – an apple tree gives a weak harvest, often gets sick, develops slowly.
There is a list of crops next to which this fruit tree gives mediocre results.
Cherry
This tree often grows large root shoots, therefore it interferes with the cultivation of “neighbors”. Some summer residents noticed that after cutting down old cherries, apple trees began to give a good harvest. The same applies to sweet cherries.
Viburnum
This crop absorbs a lot of moisture from the soil, taking it from neighboring apple trees. In addition, viburnum can cause aphids to grow on the tree.
Lilac
The plant is loved for its beauty, it smells nice, but it is often attacked by all sorts of pests and diseases. Therefore, it is the most dangerous “neighbor” for an apple tree.
Jasmine
Gardeners claim that jasmine is better to plant near raspberries, whose shoots are increasingly taking over new areas. They point out that jasmine has the property of suppressing the growth of other plants.
