What products increase the risk of a heart attack, experts said

A heart attack occurs when one of the coronary arteries (the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart muscle) is blocked. The risk of a heart attack largely depends on the diet, so experts recommend limiting the consumption of certain foods.

Red meat

Consumption of too much beef, lamb and pork can increase the risk of developing heart disease and diabetes. The reason for this is that red meat is rich in saturated fat, which raises cholesterol levels.

Baking

Cookies, cakes and muffins should be rare components of the diet, as they tend to contain a lot of sugar, which leads to weight gain. In addition, baking increases the level of triglycerides, which can lead to heart disease. And white flour, commonly found in baked goods, can raise blood sugar levels.

Bacon

Bacon is rich in saturated fat, which can raise LDL ( “bad”) cholesterol, as well as increase the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke. In addition, bacon is high in salt, which raises blood pressure and puts more strain on the heart.

Foods for heart health

To keep healthy heart and reduce the risk of developing heart diseases, the following foods should be included in the diet:
