What seedlings like: the secrets of proper watering

Do you want to grow strong seedlings? An important condition is proper watering. Each vegetable crop has its own care rules. Few gardeners pay attention to the moderation of watering.

How to properly organize watering of seedlings

In our article, we will talk about the necessary water when growing seedlings of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.

Tomatoes love heat, temperature changes negatively affect their growth and development. Of course, nothing will happen if you water the seedlings with cold water, but it is better to avoid such constant watering. The best for them will be water at room temperature.

Another important condition is the amount of irrigation. It's hard to go wrong here, as growth increases, so does quantity. The top soil will dry out, feel free to water.

It is important not to flood. After all, an excess of water is a lack of oxygen and the main reason for the appearance of the “black leg”, which kills the plant.

Tip: You can tell by the appearance of the plant that it needs watering. The leaves begin to fall and wither.

Pepper also, like other seedlings, needs proper hydration. Unlike tomato, it is watered approximately once a week, but abundantly. Since the culture is capricious, it is also necessary to pay attention to the quality of the water. It should be clean, at room temperature, it should stand for at least 24 hours.

There are several rules for watering pepper seedlings:

  • water in the morning;
  • < li>only under the root;

  • do not allow the upper layer of the soil to dry out.

By observing the plant, you can determine whether there is enough moisture. Flabby leaves are a deficiency, dark green color is an excess.

Cucumber seedlings are moisture-loving! The main thing is to comply with certain requirements:

  • after watering, turn the plants slightly to allow oxygen to flow in;
  • use water at room temperature;
  • do not overmoisten;
  • li>
  • in order to exclude diseases, add ash;
  • after the emergence of seedlings, watering is temporarily stopped for 2-3 days.

What consequences await for non-compliance with watering conditions :

  1. Cold water – stress, weakens the plant's immunity.
  2. In the sun – burns of leaves and roots from above.
  3. Lack of moisture – slows down growth.< /li>
  4. Watering under the stem – destroys the soil.
