There are two countries that lead the annual ranking of the happiest countries in the world by the World Happiness Report.
These are Finland and Denmark.
Finland has been for seven years takes first place, writes CNBC.
Finnish and Danish business leaders and psychologists found an explanation for these results. Some of them referred to several sayings that allow them to think positively and optimistically, even in particularly difficult times.
“What you leave behind, you will find ahead”
Everyone faces obstacles. Dealing with failures can prevent them from happening again.
According to Anna Hallila, head of people and culture at Finnish manufacturing company Framery, this phrase means that leaving a problem unattended will lead to an even bigger problem.
For example, if your friend makes a nasty joke about you, if you don't address it right away, it may give the impression that it's OK to make similar jokes in the future.
“Don't pay attention”
According to the American Psychological Association's 2022 survey, more than 25% of Americans are stressed. It hurts their mental health and productivity, often worrying about circumstances beyond their control.
According to Meik Viking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute, people in Denmark use a three-word phrase every day to get ahead of it: “Don't pay attention.” She embodies deep acceptance and freedom from anxiety.
“Some have happiness, everyone has summer”
It's easy to feel self-conscious or jealous when you see other people sharing only their best moments in social networks. Happy people recognize that everyone has bad days, and there's no point in comparing yourself to others, even when they're having a hard time.
In such situations, Finns use the old phrase: “Some have happiness, everyone has summer.” In other words, no matter what you're dealing with, better days will come.
