What to add to meatball mince – potatoes or bread

We are all used to adding meatballs and potatoes and bread, as our mothers and grandmothers used to do. These ingredients are added in order to make the finished meat products more lush and juicy.

Now you should think about what is better – potatoes or bread. Here's what experienced cooks think about it.

Details

Lush and juicy cutlets will turn out if you add vegetables. Bread, especially dry, absorbs excess moisture from minced meat.

For cooking you need:

  • minced meat (preferably a mixture of pork and beef) – 400 -500 g;
  • potatoes – 2 pcs.;
  • egg – 1 pc.;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • breadcrumbs, salt, pepper to taste.

How to cook

Grate the peeled raw potatoes and onions on a fine grater, remove excess liquid , mix with meat and add an egg.

Then you need to thoroughly mix the minced meat. According to experts, a perfectly prepared semi-finished product does not leave traces on the walls of the bowl.

By the way, sometimes it is not recommended to add a chicken egg. There is an opinion that the protein makes the finished cutlets denser, but this is a matter of taste.

All that remains is to form the cutlets, roll them in breadcrumbs and you can fry or bake them in the oven.
