What to add to water for rooting cuttings

A popular method of propagating various crops is cuttings, for which the branches are left in a special solution until the roots appear. Various activators are used, for which inexperienced summer residents go to the shops, and knowledgeable ones do it themselves. Summer residents told about one additive that will help even a grapevine take root.

What to add to the water

In order for the cuttings to take root before the branch simply starts to rot, you need to add natural honey to the water.

As for other crops, with the help of honey, their rooting occurs several times faster than with the traditional method.

What honey to use

Gardeners unanimously claim that for rooting, you need to use only flower honey.

The fact is that it contains biogenic stimulants and phytohormones, while analogues prepared on the basis of sugar syrup do not contain such substances.

As a result, honey acts as a natural hormone and fungicide, which promotes the active development of the lower shoots, while disinfecting the cut.

How to prepare the solution

There is no consensus, and, according to various sources, 1 tbsp. l. of honey can be used for both 200 g of water and a whole bucket.

But honey must definitely be dissolved in warm water (a small amount), and then mixed with the main volume.

Only the lower part of the cutting is soaked in the solution for no more than a day. The structure is covered with a plastic bag on top.

The grapes can stand for 2 days, and completely immersed in the honey solution.
