So, the first option is to leave everything as it is
As strange as it sounds, but if the aerial roots of an orchid look good, you don't need to do anything with them – you shouldn't even try put the roots back in the pot.
The number two option is to cut them.
You should take scissors if you see that the roots are rotten, diseased , dried or damaged. Pruning is indispensable here: the roots should be cut to a healthy tissue, and the place of the cut should be sprinkled with powdered activated carbon.
Please note: after performing such an operation, the plants do not need to be watered for 3-4 days to give the wounds possibility to linger.
