Nutritionist Keri Hans emphasizes that coffee really has many useful properties. However, it can cause digestive problems, otherwise – nervous overexcitement.
The expert calls Japanese matcha tea or any other green tea as useful alternatives. According to her, such drinks do not cause nervousness and insomnia, as they contain theanine, which neutralizes the negative effects of caffeine.
White tea can be another substitute for coffee – it contains not only useful antioxidants, but also polyphenols, which help fight inflammatory processes and slow down aging. “White and green teas improve heart function and lower cholesterol,” said nutritionist Lauren Minchen.
Also, according to Minchen, you can replace coffee with red rooibos tea. It is able to remove oxalic acid from the body, which settles in the kidneys and is often the cause of urolithiasis.
Hans also advises replacing traditional coffee with mushroom coffee. Such a drink will allow you to overcome the craving for coffee, since it is prepared from medicinal mushrooms, but it tastes little different from real coffee and at the same time contains a minimal amount of caffeine.
