What to soak store-bought chicken in to get rid of harmful substances

Many people know , that the meat of chickens grown on poultry farms contains growth hormones and antibiotics. To remove harmful substances from poultry meat, you should use brine, which is prepared from three ingredients.

What you will need

  • water – 1 l;
  • salt – 3 tbsp. l.;
  • citric acid – 1 hour.

Procedure

  1. Choose a container as large as possible. Water is poured there, salt and citric acid are added. All components are thoroughly mixed until dissolved.
  2. Next, pieces of chicken or carcass are placed in a bowl. The meat is soaked for 3 hours.
  3. An important condition: the chicken must be completely immersed in the brine. If the carcass is large, then the number of ingredients is increased by 2-3 times.
  4. After 3 hours, the chicken is washed under running water and cooking begins. At the same time, it should be remembered that during soaking, the meat will absorb some of the salt, so it is important not to oversalt the dish during cooking.
