What will happen to your body if you sit on your phone before bed: four consequences
0
After retiring, one woman began to constantly sit on her phone at night due to insomnia. After some time, she was diagnosed with glaucoma in both eyes. Doctors said that the gadget could have influenced this. And this is just one of the reasons why it is better to put the smartphone away before going to bed.
One scientific study found that just 8 minutes with a smartphone before bed excites the human body for more than an hour. And this leads to disruption of the biological clock.
Also, using a gadget before bed reduced the duration of the REM sleep phase by 14%.
If you spend every night “on your phone” before going to bed, you may have health problems.
Eye diseases. If you stare at a smartphone screen that is close for a long time, the functions of the ciliary muscle (thanks to which we can focus on near and distant objects) deteriorate. As a result, a person's eyes get tired and blurred vision occurs. Some people who sit at their phone with the light turned off develop irritation in the area of the macula of the retina. This leads to eye diseases that can lead to blindness.
Deterioration of skin condition. The smartphone screen emits blue light. This light penetrates deeper into the skin faster and leads to oxidative damage to DNA. As a result, the synthesis of collagen and elastin decreases, the skin becomes rough, and its pores are enlarged. In addition, blue light causes the skin to darken and age faster.
Migraine. This is due to the fact that the blue light from the screen can make it difficult to fall asleep, and the brain itself is in an excited state.
Joint diseases. When using a smartphone, we usually lower our head, which puts strain on the cervical spine. This can have a negative impact on health in the future. Due to the fact that intensive finger movements are also performed, inflammation with joint pain, swelling, and limited mobility can occur.
