What you absolutely cannot do at Christmas: prohibitions and signs

Christmas is one of the greatest holidays in the Christian world. In folk customs and Christian beliefs, there are many rules that regulate what absolutely cannot be done on Christmas, as well as what absolutely cannot be done on January 7 or December 25.
The list of things that cannot be done on Christmas also includes:
- Cleaning, washing, or doing any housework.
- Knitting, sewing, cutting with scissors was considered a bad omen.
- Washing or doing other household chores, such as washing floors or windows.
- Swearing, quarreling, or sorting out relationships.
But you need to remember that there are lists of what can and cannot be done on December 25 or January 7. Despite the prohibitions, this holiday has its positive obligations that are important to follow:
- Visit church and participate in the festive liturgy.
- Congratulate relatives, neighbors, and acquaintances on the holiday.
- Spend time with family, share kutya and other festive dishes.
- Open the door to carolers and thank them generously.
