What you can't handle so as not to bring trouble on yourself: prohibitions of the day

November 20, in the Orthodox calendar, is the day of memory of the blessed Venerable Josaphata. Blessed Venerable Josaphat (in the world Yulia-Evgenia Khoruzhynska) was born on November 17, 1869 into a family of Orthodox Christians in the village of Kryvchyntsi, in the Chernihiv region. From early childhood, she showed a deep religious feeling and a desire to serve God.
Julia was educated in her family and in convent schools. During her young years, she felt a great attraction to the spiritual life. Later, in 1892, after the death of her father, she decided to enter a monastery. Her entry into monasticism came at a time when Ukraine was experiencing significant religious persecution, in particular due to the efforts of Polish Catholic forces and Russian government circles to assimilate Orthodox Ukrainians into the Catholic Church.
In 1894, she took monastic vows and was given the name Josaphat, in honor of the holy righteous Josaphat, who was also known for her devotion to monastic life. Josaphat settled in the monastery of St. John the Theologian in Lavrov (now the Lavrovsky Monastery), which became the center of her spiritual activity.
In 1905, Blessed Josaphat was appointed abbess of the Zhytomyr Convent, where she worked to restore Orthodoxy among Ukrainian Catholics, fighting to ensure that people did not lose their spiritual roots in difficult times.
In 1919, during a wave of political and religious persecution, Josaphat was arrested by the Bolshevik regime for her active support of the Orthodox faith. She was sent to camps, where she suffered greatly.
Blessed Josaphat died on December 7, 1919, probably from physical suffering or from an illness she contracted in the camps.
November 20 is the memorial day of the holy Monk Gregory of the Decapolis.
Saint Gregory was born around the end of the 7th or beginning of the 8th century in what is now Asia Minor (the Byzantine Empire). He came from a wealthy and noble family. At a young age, Gregory felt drawn to the monastic life and decided to become a monk. In the monastery, he received a deep spiritual education, which strengthened his decision to follow Christ in monastic life.
Saint Gregory gained special distinction thanks to his struggle with the iconoclasts, which was one of the greatest heresies of his time.

What can be done
