When it is necessary to turn off electrical appliances – the Minister of Energy appealed to Ukrainians and businesses

Recovery of the energy infrastructure damaged by the Russians is currently underway in Ukraine. The government called for reducing the load on the power system from 19:00 to 21:00 in order to reduce the load. Businesses are recommended to take advantage of the opportunity to import electricity to ensure the smooth operation of enterprises, as well as to refrain from using lighting and advertising.

As for businesses, it is recommended to take advantage of the possibility of importing electricity to ensure the uninterrupted operation of enterprises, and to refrain from using lighting and advertising that are not critically necessary for their operations. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk on the air of the National Telethon.

We call on the population to consume electricity more rationally – if possible, reduce the use of household electrical appliances in the evening peak hours from 19:00 to 21:00, transfer their operation to night time – noted Kolisnyk.

The Minister of Economy, Yuliya Svyridenko, previously emphasized the importance of importing electricity provided by the government as one of the ways to prevent possible power outages, especially in the event of a shortage in the power system. According to her, previous experience has proven that the import of electricity can ensure the stable operation of industrial production and enterprises that need uninterrupted power supply.

Ukraine faces a shortage of electricity in the summer

Meanwhile, Ukrenergo warned that Ukrainians may face a shortage of electricity in the summer due to Russian strikes. RBC-Ukraine writes about this with reference to the comments of Maria Tsaturyan, director of communications of NEC Ukrenergo.

According to her, when hot weather comes to Ukraine, there may be a shortage of electricity in the power system.

This is due to the fact that the complete restoration of our power plants will take a long time – Maria Tsaturyan explained.

The director of communications of NEC “Ukrenergo” added that spring and summer are the period of repairs at power plants, when they prepare for the next heating period. Repair work at nuclear power plants has already begun, and in the future, more and more capacities will be forced to go into temporary repair during the spring and summer.

Therefore, sometimes our system will have a noticeable deficit, which we will try to cover precisely at the expense of import of electricity from Europe, and in case of its shortage or insufficiency, we will attract emergency assistance or apply certain consumption restriction schedules for industry and business – explained Tsaturyan in particular.
