Which painkillers cause fatal addiction?

Opioid painkillers are becoming more common every year despite the fact that they can cause life-threatening addictions, which in some cases lead to death.
This was stated by the Ministry of Health of the United Kingdom.
Opioids are a large group of drugs, almost all of which are painkillers.
Opioid medications, which include substances such as morphine, codeine, and methadone, as well as various synthetic narcotics, are used in hospice care and to treat pain that is not relieved by other painkillers, such as after surgery.
Opioids, which include methadone and buprenorphine, are used to treat even more serious addictions, particularly for heroin addicts.
All opioid drugs are highly addictive, at the same time, their intake is accompanied by pleasant sensations, which can also cause psychological dependence on drugs.
Increasing the dose can cause a life-threatening slowing of the heartbeat and breathing. Mixing it with alcohol or other sedatives also has serious consequences.
In a world where the pace of life is constantly increasing, every year more and more people resort to opioid painkillers, especially for chronic lower back pain, however, they increasingly cause drug addiction, which seriously harms both physical and psychological health.
Only in Britain over the last 10 years the number prescriptions for this type of medicine increased from 14 to 23 million, by 60%. The worst situation with opioid addiction is now in the USA, where the number of addicts is four times greater than in Great Britain.
And some of the drugs, weaker in effect, can be bought without a prescription at all, and the number of deaths in a decade the results of their reception doubled to more than 150 cases.
