Which plants should not be planted next to roses

Not all flowers can become neighbors for the royal plant. Gardeners claim that the neighborhoods with some plants are better not allowed. If you choose the right neighbors for roses, they will comfort the gardeners with lush bloom. Some crops are better not planted side by side because they will shade the plant or suppress growth.
Plants to soil can also differ greatly. Gardeners do not recommend planting roses with the following crops:
- Hydrangea. This plant prefers “acidic” soils, so it is not suitable for planting roses.
- Tulips. The flowering period of tulips and roses is very different, so many want to plant them nearby so that flowering will replace each other. However, it should be borne in mind that bulbous crops require annual digging. This in turn causes damage to the root system.
- rhododendron. Shrubs are very demanding for soil on the site. It must be “acidic”, because otherwise the plant will stop growing. Roses thus prefer to grow with neutral soil.
- iris. Both plants look attractive, but only separately. Irises look unattractive after flowering, so they can spoil the design plan.
- phlox. This perennial goes well with roses, but both crops are prone to the appearance of powdery mildew. And here you need to regularly process planting with fungicides.
experts do not recommend planting these crops near the roses. However, there are plants that can cause great harm. The following plants include:
- lily of the valley;
- a bird's mountain;
- a willow. Many gardeners recommend organizing a separate flowerbed for these plants.
