Which sneakers should absolutely not be machine washed?
0
There is a stereotype that not all sneakers can be washed and that hand washing is better for shoes. But this is not true. In fact, there are a number of models and fabrics that manufacturers recommend washing in a machine, but it is worth doing this on a delicate cycle and in a mesh bag.
There are types of sneakers that should never be washed in a machine:
- Leather ones can deform.
- Suede ones – the suede will simply wear out.
- With decorative elements – accessories will come off – that's half the trouble. They can also break the machine, damaging mechanical elements or clogging the drain.
- With backlighting — it will stop working.
- With glued reflectors, they can also come off.
- With a problematic sole — for example, if it has come off a little, then after washing you can be sure: it will come off completely.
- Light sneakers with metal eyelets — the fabric may turn rusty.
Be sure to read what is written on the product labels so that there are no problems with the shoes.
