Which variety of sweet peas to plant to eat without peeling?

Sweet and tasty peas are a pleasure to crunch. Every summer resident almost always has a garden with this crop. Let it not be a large plantation, like with potatoes, but it does have one. Did you know that there are different types of peas?

Waste-free peas

If this is your first time hearing about this variety, let's explain a little about what it is. Usually, when peeling peas, they are divided into two halves, the beans are taken out, and the rest is thrown away.

We suggest you try planting peas that can be eaten whole. You pluck them from the stalk and savor them. The thing is that there are two types of peas: with and without the parchment film. And in the second case, the outer shell is edible without peeling. You can eat not only the beans, but also the shell. Nothing will prevent you from chewing them. Just waste-free peas.

How to harvest

Peas ripen unevenly. You won't be able to harvest the entire crop at once. First, the lower beans ripen. Then the middle and upper ones, that is, gradually. Every few days, you need to pick off the ripe ones.

What will happen if you harvest peas at an untimely time? It's quite simple. Overripe peas become hard. And you will no longer be able to enjoy the “milky” ripeness, when the beans are at their most tender and sweet.
