Who is dangerous to take painkillers: the doctor names the categories

One of the categories for which it is dangerous to take painkillers , are people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

In the interview, the opinion was expressed that painkillers are one of the most frequently consumed medications. Meanwhile, it is by no means safe for some categories to take drugs of this group.

The doctor said that “people who suffer from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, in particular, intestinal diseases, ulcers in the anamnesis, are at risk” .

The doctor explained that it is potentially dangerous for this category of patients to take analgesics because of the properties of these drugs to contribute to the development of erosion.

He also singled out the elderly separately. The doctor advised them to choose painkillers in consultation with a cardiologist. The specialist warned that in their case “long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes”.
