Despite their benefits, not everyone should eat pears, the gastroenterologist reminded.
In an interview, the doctor reminded that pears moisturize the body, give it vitamins and minerals, and provide a large amount of fiber. But at the same time, due to some features, these fruits can be dangerous for the well-being of certain groups of people. In particular, pears are contraindicated for those with a weakened, diseased pancreas.
“People with pancreatic diseases (pancreatitis) are contraindicated with pears due to the presence of stone cells in their granular pulp. It is especially undesirable to eat this product fresh during an exacerbation of pancreatitis,” says the doctor.
The gastroenterologist added that pears also have a stool-firming effect. People prone to constipation should use them with great caution.
In addition, doctors do not advise eating pears for gastritis, various indigestion (for example, it can be dysbacteriosis, colitis, flatulence) – if you really want to, you can afford the fruit strictly in small quantities and only occasionally. People with the listed pathologies, the gastroenterologist recommended limiting themselves to pear juices or compotes.
