Why are indoor plants watered with sugar syrup
1
You can often hear that it is useful to water houseplants with sugar syrup, but this does not mean that feeding is suitable for all plants. It turns out that you can feed flowers with sugar in the winter. At this time, they become defenseless and weak, growth and flowering stops. We will tell you when and which indoor plants can be fed with sugar or glucose.
Feeding in winter
At this time, the short daylight hours lead to plants slowing down the process of photosynthesis and assimilation of nutrients, as a result of which there is a lack of vitality for full-fledged development.
But for greater effectiveness, additives of the drug “Baikal M” or yeast are needed, which increases the activity of soil microflora.
How to prepare top dressing
Ordinary granulated sugar is needed, but glucose from a pharmacy is better.
- Glucose solution: 1 tsp (1 tablet) per 1 liter of warm water.
- Sugar syrup: 1 tbsp. l. per 1 liter of warm water.
How to use
Suitable for feeding indoor plants, but not more than once a month.
And here you can't simply sprinkle granulated sugar on the surface of the earth in a pot – mold or pests will appear.
Fertilizer is applied only to moist soil.
What to feed
Excellent ficuses, succulents, cacti, indoor roses and palm trees, dracaenas respond to such feeding.
However, recently transplanted flowers should be fed carefully. The concentration of the solution should be twice as weak.
