A cardiologist, therapist, and ultrasound diagnostician spoke about the causes of sudden cardiac arrest.
The causes are often both pathologies of the heart muscle and other factors.
Among the factors that affect the heart: kidney disease, often due to side effects of drugs, poisoning, injuries, and respiratory disorders. Possible causes include family history of heart disease and blood vessels, high blood pressure and cholesterol, bad habits, diabetes, and obesity.
Of course, people with cardiomyopathy are at high risk of cardiac arrest.
Signs of sudden cardiac arrest include chest pain or discomfort, increased heart rate, shortness of breath, weakness, and dizziness. Sudden cardiac arrest is characterized by loss of consciousness, noisy and shallow breathing, bluish or pale skin, and dilated pupils.
Sudden cardiac arrest can be caused by a number of reasons. These include ventricular fibrillation and asystole, i.e. the absence of a single myocardial contraction or complete cessation of the electrical activity of the heart, as well as electromechanical dissociation – the absence of mechanical activity of the heart in the presence of electrical activity.
