Why children and adults perceive time differently

You've probably noticed that the perception of time depends on age. Scientists tried to understand why.
138 people participated in the researchers' experiment. They were divided into several groups: “preschoolers” (4-5 years old), “schoolchildren” (9-10 years old), and “adults” (18 years old and older). They watched videos lasting one minute.
The videos were dynamic. One video showed a police officer rescuing animals and arresting a thief, while the other showed almost nothing happening. The participants were then asked which video was longer.
Preschoolers mostly thought the police video was longer, while adults said it was shorter than the second. Judging by the survey results, a change in the perception of time occurs in children aged about seven.
Yes, for a small child, the duration of something depends on the intensity of events. However, as they grow older, they become familiar with the concept of absolute time.
