Why dairy products are important for health: a nutritionist named the main reasons
0 < p>Dairy products are part of the so-called healthy food plate and are one of the best and easily digestible sources of high-quality protein.
Osana Skytalinska, a nutritionist, vice-president of the Association of Dietitians of Ukraine and founder of the Academy of Longevity, told about this .
“The biochemistry of dairy products according to their chemical composition is a whole complex of biological compounds that positively affects our health – they are low in calories, contain useful milk fat, useful milk protein, vitamins A, D, E, have a lot of easily digestible calcium, and also phosphorus,” said the nutritionist.
On the other hand, calcium contained in dairy products is:
- prevention of kidney stones;
- hematopoiesis;
- nervous and muscular systems;
- blood pressure control;
- bone health (every third woman and every fifth man after 50 has osteoporosis);
- gum health;

According to the doctor, calcium is needed every day, especially at an older age – the dairy diet should form the basis of nutrition.
“Dairy products have a very high biological value. In order to be healthy, the human body should have 20 amino acids every day, 8 of which cannot be synthesized, but can only be obtained from food. They are contained in products of animal origin, first of all, in dairy products,” emphasized Skytalinska.
She also noted that milk fat contains many substances useful for health – choline, cholesterol, sphingomyelin, phospholipids.
“They are part of the membrane of each of our cells – blood cells, neurons, heart cells. If these substances are not enough, we will be in a bad mood, we will have weak memory, weak immunity and lack of strength,” the doctor added.
