Why do experienced cooks add mashed potatoes to pancake batter
Pancakes are quite a popular dish, as they can be used to make both delicious desserts and complete second courses. Standard dough preparation uses flour, eggs, milk and sugar with salt. However, few people know that experienced cooks do not forget to add mashed potatoes to the dough. This trick allows the pancakes to keep their texture, not to “come out” lumpy. In addition, potato pancakes turn out to be more filling and tasty.
How to add puree correctly?
You should take at least 5 medium-sized potatoes for a glass of flour, boil them until ready in salted water. But that's not all.
To give a more interesting taste, you should also fry one onion. Then puree the vegetables with a blender and add to the main mass, thoroughly mixing the ingredients.
Also, don't forget about milk – you should take about 350 ml for the indicated volume. It's easier with eggs – three pieces will be enough.
It is best to bake small potato pancakes on a non-stick pan.
