Sometimes you can observe how once green feathers of onions and garlic begin to turn yellow. The first thought that comes to mind is that there is not enough moisture. But the rains, on the contrary, flood the gardens, and accordingly the reason is not in this. But, after contacting the agronomists, they heard what the matter was.

Details

There can be several reasons for yellowing.

When the feathers of onions and garlic are yellow or light- green color, and the tips are white, it means that the plants do not have enough nitrogen.  Therefore, it is urgently necessary to sprinkle with a solution of ammonia, 3 tbsp. l. per 10 liters of water) or feed with calcium nitrate (3 tablespoons per 10 liters of water).

If the feathers of onions and garlic turn yellow and seem to curl, the plants do not have enough potassium. In this case, you need to pour 1 glass of potash fertilizer under each plant (3 tbsp. l. of chlorine chloride. For 10 l of water).

Remember whether you added peat to improve the soil. Then it is copper deficiency. And it is necessary to water the ground with a solution of copper sulfate (1 teaspoon per 5 liters of water).

And finally, if the soil under onions and garlic is acidic, it is necessary to deacidify it by pouring 200 ml of calcium nitrate solution under each plant (3 tablespoons per 10 liters of water). Instead of lime, you can dilute 2 cups of ash in 10 liters of boiling water and water the ground.

All this should be done in the evening. If the land is dry, it must be watered first.
