A person is recommended to drink 1.5-2 liters of water every day. Surprisingly, many people ignore this rule. They replace clean water with tea, coffee, sodas and other drinks.
Nutritionist Ali Cullen explained that lack of water in the body can affect the genitourinary system. Problems can be signaled by the desire to go to the toilet, but a small volume of urine. This means that it is too concentrated and begins to irritate the mucous membrane of the bladder.
The color of urine can also indicate the disease. In a healthy person, it will be light yellow, closer to transparent. A dark color indicates either a lack of water in the body or a developing disease. The specific smell and turbidity clearly indicate a bladder infection – cystitis.
The doctor added that regular emptying of the bladder does not allow bacteria to linger in the body for a long time. It is also not worth drinking tons of water, because in this case you risk overloading the kidneys. However, the volume of 2-3 liters during the day is recommended.
In addition, not only a glass of water hydrates the body. It is necessary to add foods with a high moisture content to the diet – vegetables, fruits and berries. The daily menu should contain less salt, which retains water in the body.
