“Now Ukrzaliznytsia, like every year, is going through the peak season of summer passenger transportation. The record load has a downside: the online services of Ukrzaliznytsia hang during peak hours, because additional security algorithms are activated, Ukrzaliznytsia explained.

It is noted that high demand is felt in the morning, when ticket sales open for the new day. For example, at 08:00 the company has 600+ ticket search requests per second and up to 10,000 active sessions.

“Such demand makes it difficult to purchase tickets. Therefore, in order to stabilize our internal systems, we changed the rules for going on sale of tickets for international flights – this gave us the opportunity to lighten the load on the system and simplify access to tickets”, explained the UZ.

Now online sales in Polish direction will start at 09:00, and to Slovakia, Austria and Moldova – at 08:00.

Olexandr Pertsovsky, head of the passenger direction of “Ukrzaliznytsia” says that group transportation of children becomes especially popular during the summer holidays. That is why other passengers may simply not have time to buy tickets if they do not do it in advance.

As reported, a person died of heatstroke on a train in Ukraine. The media reports that the incident happened on the Zaporozhye-Uzhgorod night train.
